Pastor Gideon Ling

Pastor Gideon Ling joined the pastoral team as full time pastor to the Chinese Congregation of the Chinese Evangelical Church of Denver in December, 2006 and from May 2008, Pastor Ling is recognized with the position as CECD Senior Pastor.

Pastor Gideon grew up in Malaysia. For that background, he speaks Fuzhou, Malay, Cantonese, Hockkian, Mandarin, and English. In 1976, he was called into the pastoral ministry and was trained in Trinity Theological College (B.Th.), and then also in Tainan Theological Seminary(M.Div.), China Evangelical Seminary(part time student) and Drew University(S.T.M.& Ph.D.student). He has served in Malaysia, Taiwan and USA for more than 25 years. His interested field of ministry includes the following: Preaching and Teaching, Caring, Pastoral Counseling, Evangelism & Mission. He has been trained as Missionary in 2000. He is a trained Evangelism Explosion Certified Teacher and he also being trained as Alpha Course personnel. His mission into China is also his interest.

He is married to Lydia for more than twenty years. Lydia is a piano teacher and she has her major in Piano and minor in Organ. She also has her special interest in Conducting (Delaware University). She serves in the church in caring and also music. She has been great help in Pastor Gideon’s pastoral ministry. They have raised two daughters, Florence and Joyce. A happy and blessed family serves the church together.

Pastor Gideon has his leisure interest in travelling and photographing, singing, cooking, collecting used and rare Christian books and records, now in Colorado, he has developed his interest in skiing.

Pastor Gideon has his calling from the Word of God as follow: Matthew 9:37-38 Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
